BSc (Hons) Ost.

Background and Experience

Crispin graduated in 1998 from London’s British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy). He has since filled clinical roles in a wide variety of private and public healthcare settings, including a year spent treating patients in New Zealand and working as osteopath to the House of Commons.

Having spent most of his professional career combining the treatment of private patients with working for larger organisations, he now works exclusively in private practice, splitting his time between his clinics in York and Malton.

Crispin has an excellent relationship with local GPs and consultants and can offer competitive rates and fast referrals on private diagnostic tests such as x-rays and MRIs. He is a recognised provider with most health insurers including BUPA and AXA-PPP.

Clinical Approach

Crispin takes a structural and evidence-based approach, focusing on hands-on physical therapy techniques and prescribed remedial exercise. He has particular interests in the treatment and rehabilitation of sporting injuries, and in postural issues and their relation to the diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain and related conditions.

He advocates a personalised and bespoke approach to treatment, taking into account lifestyle and biomechanics when creating a unique treatment plan for each individual patient. He is a firm believer in getting people back to full health in as few sessions as possible, and in avoiding long courses of treatment unless absolutely necessary.

Personal Interests

Crispin is married with three children. Outside of the clinic he enjoys mountain biking and hill walking with his family and trying to tire out their two border collies.
